Enact The Fair Tax HR-25
The Fair Tax plan was created by and is supported by American citizens, not by the lobbyists who run Congress. So, inherently, it garners trust because it was created outside Washington DC.
It repeals the income tax, corporate tax, payroll taxes (FICA and MEDI), gift tax, and estate tax and replaces the current revenue stream with a national retail sales tax.
It lessens or solves so many problems that Congress has created by currying favor with special interests over so many years, including many of the problems that have led to the current economic crisis.
For example, eliminating the corporate…

Reach out to Ron Paul and the Campaign for Freedom
The younger generation is overwhelmingly turning away from the social conservative platform perpetuated by what they see as "old, grumpy, white guys"
Instead they are turning by the thousands to people such as Ron Paul and his Campaign for Freedom to give them fresh perspective and a new outlook on the way a government should be run.Ron Paul already has mobilized the younger generation through the use of the internet (just check out facebook and see who the most supported candidate was through the primaries)...
If the RNC ignores this youthful, strong, and passionate subset of the population, the…

Make room for libertarians
Libertarians love Freedom in all its forms.
The message of Freedom brings us together and is all inclusive, whether it be:
Freedom of religion, The separation of church and state, The right to bear arms, Free trade, Market competition, Capitalism, The right to Life, The liberty to choose, Equality of opportunity, Protection of property rights, Strong national defense, Checks and Balances, Constitutionalism, Judicial restraint
...and on and on...
and allow all citizens and all nations those same Freedoms so long as it does not infringe upon my, your, or our collective Freedoms.

Fight to Elect Neal Horsley
Georgia gubernatorial candidate Neal Horsley is the first thing we should do with the party.
Asked if he was ready to sacrifice his own son in a national insurrection, Horsley recounts a fight with his son where he almost killed him.
“I was one foot from killing my own son, or hurting him really, really bad,” Horsley told Krider. “If he would have attacked me again, I would have stuck him. Or cut him or sliced him or done something to stop him. That’s the point, you hypothetical has literally already been worked out with me, and that’s what makes…

Embrace the FairTax as sponsored by Rep John Linder
This is the most researched piece of legislation ever offered. Implimentation of this plan would create such a boom to our economy we would be worried about how to slow it down rather then how to stimulate it. Two books "The FairTax Book" and "FairTax: The Truth (Answering the Critics)" have been written on the subject and contain a wealth of information. While this topic is easy to demagogue, if we stick to the facts the case is easily made in favor of this fantastic method of tax reform.

End the war on drugs.
Conservatives are about FREEDOM. It's your body and you should be allowed to put whatever you want into it so long as you are not hurting others. If we change from the police state to the freedom state we will shake the political scene to its foundations. For 150 years the country did just fine with NO drug laws. We should go back to that. We should trust the individual.

Small "c" conservatives
The party must return to its roots of small government and personal freedom. The current platform of exclusion and moralism is unacceptable and will result in the destruction of the party.
The republican party should be full of fiscal conservatives of multiple religions, races, and sexual orientations, but the party excludes a majority of these people based on fake religious superiority.
In short, remove religious dogma from the party and many people my age will return. If you don't, we may be gone forever. Many voters 18-30 went to Obama in a landslide because of the religious right.

Stop "Reaching Across the Aisle" to pass Big Spending Bills
If you think the Dems are crazy Socialists, then why are you so eager to create legislation with them?
We need fewer spending bills, if you're more worried about looking "mean" than sticking to principles, then say no to Pelosi with a smile. I'm glad the election's over, because I couldn't take anymore of McCain congratulating himself up for working with liberals like Russ Feingold and Ted Kennedy.

Sarah Palin
Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!
This woman represents the best and brightest future for the Republican party. Sarah is to 2012 what Reagan was to 1980. She represents all true American ideals and really speaks to the core of the American spirit.
If you dont believe me look at the numbers.
According to this rasmussen poll!
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...n_helped_mccain
Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency.
91% of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65% who say their view is Very Favorable.
We need Sarah palin, and we need her now!…

Step Away from the Religious Right
Combining politics and religion is not appropriate for a freedom loving party, or really any party in the US. There is nothing inherently wrong with religion, but combining it with politics hurts both religion and politics. This is a party that should support all sorts of self governing - not just economic. There are many parts of government that should be broken up and those responsibilities returned to churches, synagogues and non-profits.

Re-embrace Conservatism
We need to rediscover the conservatism that made us win landslide elections in 1980, 1984, and 1994 if we are to ever take the mantle of leadership again.
When we ran as conservatives, we won huge.
Conservatism is alive and well. If you're not sure, just look at same-sex marriage being banned in California along with two "green" initiatves going down to defeat.
Just look at Nebraska for eliminating race-based and gender-based preferences.
Just look at Missouri for making English the official language of government.
When conservatism is on the ballot. It wins!

be inclusive.
Realize that the biggest problem with the Republican party is that it is no longer about personal freedom, but about trying to dictate one perfect way of life. I want less government. The Republican party turned into stricter government. This is not good.

Close the Primaries to Republicans ONLY
Let's face it, the MSM, Demo☭rats, and Independents helped choose our candidate. We have to stop letting them in. If those people want to support our candidates, let them do so in the general election, when they can explain WHY they should vote for us.

do a better job in Black and Latino communities
I'm a Black conservative/republican. 95% of Blacks vote Democrat and 60% of Latinos. Those stats are RIDICULOUS. There is no way America can become this multicultural and our party not have a plan.

Launch a drive to increase support for social conservatism
Some - clearly including a few of those on this site - would like nothing more than for the Republican party to abandon social conservatism in the name of a hands-off libertarian strategy that says "I don't care what you do, just don't bother me". While this sounds to many like paradise, it is in fact a dangerous strategy that would set the GOP and America itself on the road to an early death.
Social Conservatism, with strong families, support for life, and a firm committment to traditional values is essential to America's survival. Weak homes - the result of…

Run Inspiring Candidates
The GOP has to STOP nominating the next in line. Dole, McCain. We can not keep going to the old white military hero well. Nor the Bush family. With a longer resume as governor, someone like a Sarah Palin will be that inspiration. Same for Jindal. He has a really inspiring story. We have to give people a reason to vote FOR Republicans, not against the other candidate. And, they must be able to articulate conservative ideas a la Reagan.

Reach out to Blacks, Latinos, Gays, and the Youth
The party needs to become more inclusive and actively reach out to these communities. It means going directly into these communities and articulating why Republican policies and philosophy are best for these communities. Being young and Black, I have seen democratic policies continue to fail, and I believe if there is a real grassroots effort in these areas, and other communities (particularly college campuses), that it will take hold. We have to take the fight directly to democrats on their turf. It also means, becoming more progressive. By that I mean, holding fast and true to our conservative core beliefs,…

Ignore Ron Paul and the Campaign for Freedom
How is it possible that the top vote-getting idea on this site right now -- by almost 300 votes -- is to embrace Ron Paul? Either Paul's legion of online supporters are trying to fill what they perceive as a vacuum in the GOP, or we're in more trouble than I thought. Hillary Clinton is not sitting around trying to figure out how to be more like Dennis Kuchinich. Paul and his supporters are to be commended for their impressive online presence, but Paul is not a Republican, and his ideas are not the future of the GOP. This site…
