   Enact The Fair Tax HR-25

   The Fair Tax plan was created by and is supported by American citizens, not by the lobbyists who run Congress. So, inherently, it garners trust because it was created outside Washington DC.

   The Fair Tax plan was created by and is supported by American citizens, not by the lobbyists who run Congress. So, inherently, it garners trust because it was created outside Washington DC.

   It repeals the income tax, corporate tax, payroll taxes (FICA and MEDI), gift tax, and estate tax and replaces the current revenue stream with a national retail sales tax.

   It lessens or solves so many problems that Congress has created by currying favor with special interests over so many years, including many of the problems that have led to the current economic crisis.

   For example, eliminating the corporate tax and income tax will flood this country with investment from overseas. And with investment, jobs that we have been off-shoring for years will come back. Everyone wins except the lobbyists.

   By taxing consumption and rebating life's necessities, it's effective rate (tax paid minus rebate) starts at zero and approaches the maximum rate the more you spend. So, the wealthy, who spend more, pay more.

   It encourages savings and investment because investment gains not taxed. (What an idea!)

   There are no loopholes.

   Federal taxes are no longer withheld from wage earners and Joe-The-Taxpayer doesn't have to file anything with the Federal Government.

   In fact, only businesses that sell at retail have to file and its a simple percentage of their sales AND the business is compensated with a small percentage of the tax remitted to offset its own compliance costs.

   By eliminating the ability of Congress to manipulate the Byzantine Internal Revenue Code, the power of lobbyists over the Federal government is greatly diminished. And Congress won't be spending time on its interminable tweaking of the I.R.C.

   If the GOP can't get behind an idea that benefits every single American then it deserves to disappear as a political party.

   Instead they are turning by the thousands to people such as Ron Paul and his Campaign for Freedom to give them fresh perspective and a new outlook on the way a government should be run.

   Ron Paul already has mobilized the younger generation through the use of the internet (just check out facebook and see who the most supported candidate was through the primaries)...

   If the RNC ignores this youthful, strong, and passionate subset of the population, the party will increasingly become less relevant as these young people grow up.

Implimentation of this plan would create such a boom to our economy we would be worried about how to slow it down rather then how to stimulate it. Two books "The FairTax Book" and "FairTax: The Truth (Answering the Critics)" have been written on the subject and contain a wealth of information. While this topic is easy to demagogue, if we stick to the facts the case is easily made in favor of this fantastic method of tax reform.

   The republican party should be full of fiscal conservatives of multiple religions, races, and sexual orientations, but the party excludes a majority of these people based on fake religious superiority.

   In short, remove religious dogma from the party and many people my age will return. If you don't, we may be gone forever. Many voters 18-30 went to Obama in a landslide because of the religious right.

There are many parts of government that should be broken up and those responsibilities returned to churches, synagogues and non-profits.

    Conservatism is alive and well. If you're not sure, just look at same-sex marriage being banned in California along with two "green" initiatves going down to defeat.

    Just look at Nebraska for eliminating race-based and gender-based preferences.

    Just look at Missouri for making English the official language of government.

    When conservatism is on the ballot. It wins!

    Realize that the biggest problem with the Republican party is that it is no longer about personal freedom, but about trying to dictate one perfect way of life. I want less government. The Republican party turned into stricter government. This is not good.

    Close the Primaries to Republicans ONLY

    Let's face it, the MSM, Demo☭rats, and Independents helped choose our candidate. We have to stop letting them in. If those people want to support our candidates, let them do so in the general election, when they can explain WHY they should vote for us.

    do a better job in Black and Latino communities

    I'm a Black conservative/republican. 95% of Blacks vote Democrat and 60% of Latinos. Those stats are RIDICULOUS. There is no way America can become this multicultural and our party not have a plan.

    Some - clearly including a few of those on this site - would like nothing more than for the Republican party to abandon social conservatism in the name of a hands-off libertarian strategy that says "I don't care what you do, just don't bother me". While this sounds to many like paradise, it is in fact a dangerous strategy that would set the GOP and America itself on the road to an early death.

    Social Conservatism, with strong families, support for life, and a firm committment to traditional values is essential to America's survival. Weak homes - the result of on-demand abortion and the destruction of traditional marriage - breed a generation of Americans that will be more dependent on the government from everything from the food they eat the morals they learn. That, in turn, will consume more and more resources as our economy suffers from the entrance of this generation into the work force. The ultimate end, of course, is a weakened position for America in the world, and our relegation to becoming the France of the 21st century.

    Republicans must launch a drive that will not only drive the hypocrites from the party, but return the GOP to its socially conservative roots, and, at the same time, begin a national campaign to remind and convince Americans of the importance of traditional values.

It means going directly into these communities and articulating why Republican policies and philosophy are best for these communities. Being young and Black, I have seen democratic policies continue to fail, and I believe if there is a real grassroots effort in these areas, and other communities (particularly college campuses), that it will take hold. We have to take the fight directly to democrats on their turf. It also means, becoming more progressive. By that I mean, holding fast and true to our conservative core beliefs, but understanding that there has to be compromise.

    How is it possible that the top vote-getting idea on this site right now -- by almost 300 votes -- is to embrace Ron Paul? Either Paul's legion of online supporters are trying to fill what they perceive as a vacuum in the GOP, or we're in more trouble than I thought. Hillary Clinton is not sitting around trying to figure out how to be more like Dennis Kuchinich. Paul and his supporters are to be commended for their impressive online presence, but Paul is not a Republican, and his ideas are not the future of the GOP. This site is littered with libertarian suggestions from people who are obviously Paul supporters trying to remake the Party in his image. I respect their opinions and their passion, but they are not the future of the GOP. Let's talk more about domestic policy, netroots, and fund raising around here, and less about bringing fringe candidates into the fold.
