be inclusive.
Realize that the biggest problem with the Republican party is that it is no longer about personal freedom, but about trying to dictate one perfect way of life. I want less government. The Republican party turned into stricter government. This is not good.

NO! The problem isn't that we aren't giving away enough goodies. It's that people think we don't care about their jobs. Just big business. They may be right. Want to know what killed our party? Free trade. We let the third world steal our birthright!

I am going to "include" anyone who likes this idea on a list of people who suck. I will be asking all the major papers to publish this list (expect them to be heavily edited by the ZOG machine) and you will all be publicly humiliated. Then, I don't know, I'll probably slap another bumper sticker on the ol' Chevy.

"The democrats don't run everything through a second medium, and this allows them to be more flexible"
Are you kidding? They run EVERYTHING through the grinder of socialistic thinking! If it doesn't cut their preformed leftist mold, it won't win the bloodthirsty radicals at the Daily Kos and therefore won't fly.
.
Basically, you can say they have to run their stuff through Satan for appr. -

This abandonment of the Religious Right, as per your wishes, cost them all the power they once enjoyed. Why did they do this? To reach out beyond the circles they now have!
.
They poisoned themselves by abandoning the RR and conservatism, and you want MORE OF THE SAME! Insane, DEM, insane.
.
You will never marginalize Abortion as just an "issue," it is murder.

"the GOP has forgotten how to make new social networks because it has relied on the social conservative's "ready-made" networks too much."
The GOP has abandoned the RR with wide open borders, tax and spend orgies, increasing government size and influence, corruption, cronyism, impeding freedom rather than protecting it (repetitive, since that ALWAYS happens when government grows), etc. etc -

My statement below is one of the reasons I would like to de-emphasize the religious right. If they control your network, they control everything because everything uses that network. This is why they are disproportionally represented.
The democrats don't run everything through a second medium, and this allows them to be more flexible; Being flexible and adaptable leads to success.

"The reason that social conservatives seem overrepresented is because they deliver votes, cash, or ready-made organization and social networks in the form of faith communities."-dotan
As a consequence, the GOP has forgotten how to make new social networks because it has relied on the social conservative's "ready-made" networks too much. This lack of autonomy may well spell the GOP's doom.

We are inclusive. Not by choice but by design, because in the US party system you cannot exclude anyone. If you want to change the GOP platform than run candidates and get them elected. Or raise lots of money. Or organize. The reason that social conservatives seem overrepresented is because they deliver votes, cash, or ready-made organization and social networks in the form of faith communities.

Unless of coarse they don't like the verdict they give, then they are "activist judges" to be dispised. This is an attitude that the GOP must change because it is unconstitutional. The courts and constitution exist to protect the minorities for the majority. The GOP used to understand this.

i believe on the federal level at least political parties are about legislation which benefit all of us. i.e. funds for highways which move products to markets between states, military to protect us from enemies, fed /supreme court to insure equal rights/equal justice/equality of opportunity, safe from spreading disease from one state to another - stimulate world stability and peace.

I guess the Repubs really do want to party like it's 1999. Or 1989. Or 1959.

parties come and go. remember the whigs, federalists, populists, etc? maybe the gop as it was originally defined has outlived it's mission, and will devolve into two parties. it has 3 wings now - conservative, moderate and liberal.
YES THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A LIBERAL REPUBLICAN in the alternative universe where i live...
