The next RNC Chairman should...

Reach out to Ron Paul and the Campaign for Freedom

The younger generation is overwhelmingly turning away from the social conservative platform perpetuated by what they see as "old, grumpy, white guys"
Instead they are turning by the thousands to people such as Ron Paul and his Campaign for Freedom to give them fresh perspective and a new outlook on the way a government should be run.

Ron Paul already has mobilized the younger generation through the use of the internet (just check out facebook and see who the most supported candidate was through the primaries)...

If the RNC ignores this youthful, strong, and passionate subset of the population, the party will increasingly become less relevant as these young people grow up.

The GOP is filled with morons. TrueRepublican states I and other RP supporters endorse "no laws", but that is simply not the case. I support the Constitution - the LAW OF THE LAND. Most Republicans fail to do so these days. The old republicans used to! I endorse a Constitutional position so EVERYONE can do what they want so long as they don't encroach on others. Don't misquote me, asshole.

so wait ... ron paul isn't a republican? based on what .. the 2008 platform .. the 2008 platform is exactly what the old repubs campaigned against .. the republicans are becoming more and more like democrats .. amnesty, nationalizing industry, supporting socialist legislation, allowing more infringement on the peoples rights if you ron paul isnt repub then i guess taft and goldwater arent either

The so called "GOP" does not get it. The "GOP" has stolen the party from its' orignal supporters. The question is not whether the GOP should reach out to the supporters of Ron Paul. The question is whether the people who supported Ron Paul (over 100,000 dedicated election workers) should continue to support the psuedo "GOP".

Liberty - The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

Sounds like freedom to me. Give me liberty or give me death!

Thanks swmorgan77 for clearing that up. I don't know why people think Dr. Paul is for abortion. He is not. He is PRO-LIFE! He's delivered over 4000 babies. He has written the SANCTITY OF LIFE bill (look it up) that would end all abortion. The bill just keeps being ignored in Congress. Please read "The Revolution" to learn what Ron Paul stands for. It was THE MOST LOVED BOOK on Amazon for 2008!

I'm glad to see this one "under review" since it's "Campaign for Liberty," not "Campaign for Freedom."

        Please remove it.

Jmartin - Ron Paul is pro-life. He spent his career as an OBGYN which contributed to his pro-life position. He supports overturning Roe Vs. Wade and all other Federal involvement in the issue and allowing the pro-life laws in many states (like mine, Utah) to be able to take effect.

Live by the two rules of the Common Law:

        1. I will do all that I have agreed to do.
        2. I will not ENCROACH on other people OR their PROPERTY.

The only government we need is the government that enforces these two rules.

Ron Paul is not a serious player. He has stated he would not support any other unless the nominee were him.Politics is a team sport.

The GOP is nothing but a check mark. It has no bearing on principles, only on the ability to vote in a primary, which the GOP has already determined is irrelevant. The leaders choose the nominee, so blame them. As long as Republicans think "Limited Govt" is the same as "No Govt" WE ARE SCREWED. That is LIBERAL MINDSET. Libertarianism is a philosophy, not a party!

gwohl is proposing "no" laws, so that he/she and friends can do whatever they want and to heck with innocent victims. So where is the "liberty", freedom to live and choose for the innocent victims? The purpose of gov't is to protect the people not destroy innocent, defenseless human beings so that others can behave like animals!

A big mistake many fascist neocon Republicans, like "True Republican" make is thinking that Ron Paul is socially "liberal." The most conservative thing one can do is accept everybody's decisions and not employ government intervention to enforce a certain moral code. You cannot say you're for reducing government's size if you also want to legislate abortion/gay marriage/drugs on a federal level!

      • gwohl commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

stevenlaib: Seriously? No, his ideas aren't "new" in a historical context, but in the context of the past eighty years or so, Ron Paul's ideas are revolutionary. End American imperialism, end the assaults on our civil liberties, end the interventionist foreign policy, end the fed, end the war on drugs, end invasion of privacy. Yes, this is the key to true conservatism! Freedom is an ancient idea!

      • True Republican commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

These comments are about redefining "Liberty" to mean total, individual freedom and choice. The only truly total individual freedom/choice, is the freedom to choose which set of laws will be imposed upon us. Check out Ron Paul's Libertarian platform. Conservative in fiscal matters, beyond liberal left in moral matters. He is not a true Republican!

      • stevenlaib commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I have generally considered Ron Paul to be a grumpy old white guy. Am I missing something? He certainly doesn't seem to have any new ideas.

      • TexasChris commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

How is Ron Paul not a Republican? He bases his beliefs on the Constitution. He models his political beliefs after Robert Taft, called "Mr. Republican." Ron Paul is not a NEOCON, true, but they are truely non-Republican. Ron Paul stands for what the Republican party once stood for (when they were a vialble party).

      • uzzo2 commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

The biggest problem here is that Congressman Paul is not a republican, he's a Libertarian. I think he would make a good secretary of the treasury, i like his fiscal policy, but, i wouldn't vote for him for POTUS

      • Stephen Washington commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I know the lobbyists in Washington won't accept Ron Paul as their president, but it still is nice to see Americans are supporting a man who received ZERO campaign cash from those unAmerican lobbyists...
