For starters, if we're going to start winning elections again, we need younger candidates. I also think that this country could really benefit from having a financial genius in the White House- someone who understands Wall Street, unlike President-elect Obama. When this market swings back up as it always does eventually, we all know that the democrats are going to credit their regime, just like they did with Clinton, Gore and the tech bubble. If we had someone like Romney - who started and ran Bain Capital and who has some great economic policy ideas, we could have won this race. I hope he still wants to run in 2012.

Romney was a terrible governor. He had a 4 year term but resigned after 3 years. He cut budgets and did all he could to make a name for himself. He called the wonderful Big Dig "the world's longest car wash." He denigrated our state whenever he could. He flip flopped on major issues. He is a man you cannot trust. And I voted for him thinking he would make changes. He did nothing and now our state is in need of many physical improvements. Just drive on the SE Xway or Route 93 at night and look a... more

Let's bring on liberal Romney, the Massachusetts politician. Now there is a solution to the ailing GOP.

I will never vote for a person who supports arresting sick people for using medical marijuana. No matter what state they live in. I will never co-operate with any politician who supports the war on marijuana / industrial hemp. It is too important for the environment and just compassion. I learned a lot in the last few years that has made me say .
Non Co-operation with Evil is a Moral Duty. And the war on hemp / medical marijuana is Evil.

I voted Republican since Reagan but in 2008 I supported Ron Paul.
The war on "drugs" (really marijuana) is so evil any person who supports it is my sworn enemy. Any politician who supports it can count on my vote going where it hurts him the most.

Is this the Comunist bigot party? I have seen nothing but hate for this great man's religions and frankly I see too many socialist proposals in this site.

Romney will still appear young, even at 64. Old enough to be wise, young-looking enough for electability. The "Mormatron" comment made me lol, though...
Mike Huckabee is the reason that Barack Obama is the President. I don't hate the guy for it, but it is fairly important to note that the economy tanking completely killed the McCain campaign (such as it was :D). Mike Huckabee is the reason that Barack Obama is the President. I don't hate the guy for it, but it is fairly important to note that the economy tanking completely killed the McCain campaign (such as it was :D). If the economy tanks, Romney is the only Republican on the national stage that has the resume and speaking capability to talk his way out of it. At the very least, we don't have 60 Democrat senators with Romney running. And Romney would have been running, if Mike Huckabee hadn't knocked him off in Iowa.
And Dalton...patriotism has nothing to do with it. Who has the experience, knowledge, judgment, and wisdom to be President - and also has the ability to win? That's how you pick a President. I don't want a beer-buddy-in-chief (think Giuliani), any more than I want a pastor-in-chief (Huckster). I want a President - and Romney is the only guy on the scene right now that has the entire package.
The crystal ball says watch for Petraeus, though...

Nothing will get us past the lie that the relgious right controls the party like supporting a polygamist for president.

Mitt Romney will be seen as the strong economic, patriotic and governing leader tha America leads. We will head even deeper in to a economic crisis and Mitt will be there to pull us out. Of this, I have absolutely not doubt!

Romney can take the nomination in 2012! And possibly the presidency (given how well Obama does). He only has one obstacle...Huckabee. Huckabee is the reason people have left the GOP.
hoosierdude
As long as a man like Mike Huckabee still has aspirations to finish third or fourth in the campaign of 2012 and as long as he is able to inject his clever bigotry and cloaked hatred for Romney then it will be very difficult for Americans to see the big picture without a notoriously bigotted slant from the religious right of our party. It's a crying shame, but enough is enough already! HuckaNO!
ryanhawkins
I have no faith in the intelligence of Americans if they continue passing up a candidate like Mitt Romney. John McCain was the dumbest choice of a nominee the GOP has selected since Bob Dole. Come on America - THINK!!!!!! You may only get one more chance to have a president as good as Mitt.
Juston4change
Romney is impressive all the way around. I don't want a politician for a president. I want a leader with real business sense. The reason we are so backward in the US right now is because elected officials are not leaders with real business back grounds, therefore they sell their soles to make a buck or have a new rich friend rather than serve the people because they have already made it in life.

I can't wait for Mitt to Bring America Back!

Romney is 60 years old. He'll be 64 in 2012 and he will no longer have a portfolio. The one-term governor who governed as a social progressive is unemployed. So: He's neither young nor does his old age confer the benefit of experience.

As long as we continue to go down the religious bigot path the Republican party will never win.

Geez, it's too bad you can't vote AGAINST one of these ideas.
