Ron Paul upholds the traditional values of the Republican party - the same values that got Republicans elected during its most successful years. He is of the Goldwater-Taft tradition, who is not only the taxpayer's best friend, but also the most honest and consistent legislator in Congress. There is not a single person more deserving of the ability to rebuild this broken, flawed Republican party.
We have a statue of Robert Taft in Washington DC. He opposed the special treatment of labor unions, endorsed the same non-interventionist foreign policy as Ron Paul (which would require we stop running a global empire and end our occupations of foreign nations all over the world, including Afghanistan and Iraq), did not support our involvement in both NATO and the UN, did not favor deficit spending or high farming subsidies, and fought against governmental bureaucracy. He was given the nickname "Mr. Republican" for most closely abiding by the Republican tradition. How many Republicans can you name that follow this same ideology?
There is, after all, only one Republican who does follow this ideology: Ron Paul.
