I personally would advocate for no income tax and maybe a higher capital gains tax. I'm not sure the fair tax is the solution that is wanted. What about a deflationary trend, heck even an inflationary trend? My concern is with what kind of taxes would we eventually see on goods and services. What about hoarding? Such a policy could have far reaching unintentional consequences for market stability.
OK, I keep seeing people including the RNC praise Paul solely on his ability to raise money. I will concede the fact that many here don't want Paul as the next POTUS but please explain to me then how he was able to raise the money in the first place? If raising money is so important then explain why he was so effective at doing it, bearing in mind he did very little fundraising himself.
I wonder if this site will even be relevant anymore in a few weeks if all this spam is running rampant on it. I would sure like to see this party return to basics and integrate a more tolerant policy and hands off peoples lives. I don't understand why leftist sites think spamming these pages are worthwhile or a productive use of their time. I'll point out that leftist must see Paul as a threat.
I'll tell you right where to start. Racism, bigotry, and sexism has no part in a healthy party. I can't count the number of times at a Republican event that I heard the most hateful speech imaginable. What young person wants to be subject to that? This is the view of most young people I know as intolerance of others and their lifestyles keep them away from our party. Hands off peoples lives!
I have an idea, why not listen more to those in the Party that didn't vote instead of all the people that will always vote. It has become clear to me that we have people that confuse Country First, with Party First. That is what needs to change. We need a candidate that is attuned to OUR wishes and isn't beholden to any particular lobby. Get back to basics, its that simple in all honesty.
We can't be a one issue party. Today our foreign policy is the only thing that ties Republicans together. Even a Democrat like Joe Lieberman with all of his leftist views is accepted in the fold because he supporters the war. I say that we are more than foreign policy and we need to start listening to the rest of our party who opposes the war abroad for very conservative reasons.
Everytime the party doesn't do what it says, we keep you accountable. Sorry but I refuse to tow the party line when I'm given another stinker who wants to destroy the principles we profess to stand for. Stop the spending means just that. Stop the subsidies, stop the welfare including corporate welfare, and stop exaggerating earmarks like they amount to very much. 700B, endorsed by our Prez!
We need leaders that do what they say and mean what they do. Many young people can smell corruption from a mile away. Why don't young people trust Republicans, because for the most part, in their lifetime, they haven't seen one. How can it be that young people pour into the Democratic Party when they exemplify the status quo and establishment, while young people are against those ideas?
The grassroots youth movement already does this. The Republican Party has been bankrupt in this regard. There is a nifty little group called Bureaucrash that brings free market issues to people in a way that they can understand through creative activism. You have to be constructive in your criticism of the left but you also have to set an example, something that has been lacking in our leadership.
I believe we are limiting ourselves if we can only think of Palin and Jindal as our future party Presidential candidates. I don't think most Americans even know what principles these people stand on. It was my understanding that the McCain campaign had Palin silenced because she was voicing the things she actually believed in. I kind of want to know what those things are.
Most Democrats have open Primaries and they won the election and were absolutely ecstatic about their candidate because he was 100% Democrat. Most primary Republican primaries are closed, I don't understand how you think manipulation accured. Are you saying the John McCain was chosen by Democrats? Why wasn't this remedied at the Convention?
I say look at the primaries and see who received the most diverse support from supporters in the Republican Party. I have a feeling I know the answer because I went to some of his Rallies.
