MY favorite kind of socialism is the one where the people are in the process of taking back over, when the "leaders" realize they are all about to be killed, dragged through the streets, and hung in the town square like Mussolini... When they realize they screwed up, and that, hmmmm, maybe socialism doesn't work and isn't such a good idea. Go to Europe and see how THEIR little "experiment in socialism" is working out for 'em. And then stay there, because we don't want/need you here.
I'm gonna have to half-way agree with fricker here, except for his retaliation attempt at our inebriated gaol oriented... Don't stoop down to his level of intelligence (A.K.A. pond scum) gaol oriented- Go away already, no one here cares what you have to say. You're not even annoying us, you're just embarrassing yourself and making yourself look like an extremist idiot... And there is DEFINATELY a bias in the MSM lol anyone who doesn't see that is blind.
gaol oriented - this thread is designed to promote the idea of LESS government, BETTER government, and a government the people can actually believe in. This is NOT somewhere to push your skewed socialist viewpoints. It seems to me (from the outside looking in) that you are here purely to disrupt the discussion that is going on here, and I believe there is one REALLY good reason why: You are affraid. You're scared that an idea like the FairTax, which would mean more power in the hands of the people and less control by the government, is so popular and makes so much sense. So in an effort to stop this, you are throwing out absurd ideas like "socialism polls" and the like. If ANYONE (and no one has yet, doubt they ever will) can show us an example of socialism that WORKED and was a benefit to the PEOPLE and the nation as a whole, then we can continue to discuss it. If not, DROP IT ALREADY!! You guys are beating a dead horse pushing this idea... It never worked in the past, it will never work in the future, and it will only cause pain and suffering if it is enacted. Get over it or find a different forum to spew your crap. No disrespect intended, just my 2 cents...
FairTax really is the way to go. It would make it so every citizen who spends money on new goods would pay taxes, and as far as I know, that's pretty much everybody! A larger number of tax contributors, paying a lower tax rate per person, coupled with lower gov't spending would allow for money to pay back the nat'l debt. Not to mention the trillions of dollars businesses would bring back to the US
